It all starts of with the tree ( oh and the homemade advent calendar with a Thomas the tank engine DVD for the dairy allergic munchkin) and a trip to see Father Christmas on the train (tears and clinging to me only lasted for a few minutes until jim clocked that the big guy was handing out presents). Shaky and slade were played everyday and sung along to all day everyday and jingle bells sung at least 10 times a day. The polar express was watched 4 times, elf 3, the muppets 5 and the grinch was declared as too scary. Long walks through the woods collecting holly and pine cones and always asking for snow. Shopping trips and playing in toy shops, gingerbread lattes and oat milk hot chocolates with tons if marshmallows. Running around Christmas markets and smooching under mistletoe. Visting the bear and hate in John Lewis and trying to construct snowballs with the fake snow.
Christmas Eve ( my favourite day of all) was perfect with muffins for breakfast, cooking and baking and icing biscuits for Father Christmas. A little walk in the woods before snuggling up by the fire to watch the snowman ( and the snowman and the snow dog ) before putting out biscuits, carrots and a glass of single malt and hanging our stockings.
Christmas Day was a mass of wrapping paper, toy cars, trains, books, DVDs, sweets and treats, cuddles, big smiles and a little bit of over excitement.
Already looking forward to the next one.
